About Me
Originally from Cheshire, I am a UK-based artist living in Warwickshire, where I create hand-built ceramic sculptures.
My background lies in design and graphics, having studied graphic design at Coventry University (formerly Lanchester Polytechnic).
Over the years, my passion for the visual arts has expanded into various areas of contemporary art and crafts, with ceramics being a recent focus.
I began my artistic journey with large floral ink paintings and striking contemporary linocuts, which delved into urban and rural landscapes, as well as still-life compositions. Currently, my work revolves around abstract, hand-built ceramic sculptures.
In 2015, I was honoured to be elected a full member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA), one of the UK’s oldest art societies. Additionally, I am proud to be listed in the Crafts Council Directory.
My name . . .
‘Shenac’ is a Gaelic name from the Highlands of Scotland, my family and friends pronounce ‘She-na’ with a silent ‘c’.
I recently discovered the book where my mother found my name - ‘Shenac’ which was published in 1868 by Margaret Murray Robertson, a Scottish born teacher and writer.
